How do I register for Google classroom? As a teacher or student, you should know that the vital thing/tool you need as a student or teacher to register for google classroom is a Gmail account.
If you don't have a Gmail account create one.
There are two platforms you can use to open a google classroom,
1. Using the app (android or ios) by installing the Google Classroom app for your app store.
2. Using your web browser (Smartphones or Laptop)
Getting Started
- Open the app after installation. If you are using an android smartphone, you can login to google classroom with the Gmail account that is registered on the android or add another account for your login or visit Google Classroom on your web browser.
- After a successful sign in. Create or join your first class! You shall see a "+" sign by top right corner of your screen, click on it
- There are two options by the click of the "+" sign - (Join class or Create class).
- Now the option is yours to make, If you are a teacher/lecturer then you can click the create class option, but in the case of a student, you are to join a class.
To - Join Class
- To join a class you need a class code, you can get it from your teacher/lecturer. It is a code that is either 6 or 7 characters long.
- Once the code is typed or pasted in the dialog box, you can then join the class to see all activities by your lecturer, submit your assignment, and chat with your teacher/lecturer.
To - Create Class
- To create a class as a Teacher or Lecturer, you can do that by clicking on the 2nd option "Create class". But as a school or university in other to use the Classroom as a group (your staff and students) then your school must sign up for a free G Suite for Education account before you can use the google classroom as one approved institution.
- You need to create a class to get a class code as a teacher/lecturers and share it with your students to join the class.
